Photojournalism in Sri Lanka

personal travel blog

Traveling the world has taught me SO much about human connection - it’s an experience that makes it super easy to leave pieces of your heart all over the world.

From my adventures abroad, I've truly fallen in love with humans, ALL humans, and learning their unique stories. I’ve also learned the delicate dance of documenting a story from different perspectives as it unfolds candidly and staying respectful for others and their space. When taking a photo of someone, it never hurts to ask if they mind having their photo taken before doing so. You’ll usually get the chance to have a unique conversation and also still have the ability to document some natural moments with this person - these are the memories I cherish most.

In Sri Lanka, I immediately felt at home thanks to the people there. These interactions (and the people in them) will always hold a big piece of my heart. Here’s a look at some of my earlier attempts at photojournalism, and the moments that lit a spark in my soul to always keep exploring and learning from all walks of life.
